Does DuckType work offline?
Yes. Local models run entirely on your computer with no internet connection, and DuckType can fall back to them automatically when cloud providers are unreachable. When you have good internet, DuckType Cloud uses larger, high-accuracy models on fast cloud hardware with zero data retention configured, so transcription is usually quicker and more accurate. Use local when you need offline or fully on-device transcription; subscribe when you want managed cloud speed, accuracy, and no API-key setup.
What about Linux and mobile?
Windows is available now. Linux, Android, and iOS are planned. Join the waitlist on the homepage and we will email you when more platforms are ready.
Do meeting bots join my calls?
No. DuckType captures audio at the OS level, so no participant ever sees a bot in the meeting.
